My Experiences & Projects
Here are some of the experiences and projects that I have completed throughout my time at Ngee Ann Polytechnic. These experiences and projects allowed me to improve my communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills.
Aarathana Event
2019 - Indian Cultural Society CCA
Aarathana 2020 was a competition put up by Ngee Ann Polytechnics Indian Culture Society for Indian youths to showcase their talents. I had the role of being in charge of a team of student dancers from ITE College East. Aarathana gave me the opportunity to work on my teamwork skills such as communication and trust. Through this event, I was also able to gain insights on stage management which will be able to help me in my future career.
Fathers Day Event
2022 - SAFRA
I had to plan a day of games for Father's Day as part of my work with SAFRA Punggol. During the day's planning, I applied my knowledge from my festival management module to create engaging games that would keep children and their parents entertained. I used my critical thinking skills to tackle minor challenges that arose during the game's execution. This Father's Day event was both challenging and rewarding.
Verve Arts Festival
2021 - Arts Business Management Event
This was an ungraded project for the Verve Art Festival that happens annually in my course. My team and I were tasked with developing a product that would raise funds to execute the arts festival. We decided to create a care package in the form of a cereal box, completed with beaded jewellery and local snacks. This project was completed using skills from our visual communication and marketing modules. I was also able to sharpen my design skills on Adobe Illustrator through this project.
Artist Analysis & Press Kit
2021 - Assignment
As part of my Talent Management module, I was required to do an artist analysis and develop a press kit. I chose Kumarason Chinnadurai as my artist and developed a long-term and short-term strategy to advance his career. This assignment taught me the fundamentals of being an artist manager, as well as how to analyze and develop a solution that would benefit the artist.
Prompt Book
2021 - Assignment
I had to prepare a prompt book for a skit based on the play "Day I Met The Prince" for my Stage Management assignment. I learned a lot about being a stage manager and was able to see things from the perspective of a stage manager while working on this assignment. I also used my prompt book at the end of the assignment to give out cues on the day of the plays reenactment.
